St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School began its journey in 1963, expanding from a parish preschool to include a nurturing Kindergarten program. That milestone marked the official founding of the school as a place where young learners have been growing, learning, and thriving ever since.
In 1993, St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School became an incorporated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, dedicated to providing a strong, academically vigorous, values-based education. The school is governed by its own Board of Trustees, with the Bishop of the Diocese of Northern California serving as Chairperson. Day-to-day leadership is entrusted to the Head of School, who works closely with the Board to carry out the school’s mission and ensure a vibrant learning community.
St. Michael’s is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, the California Association of Independent Schools, and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The School is accredited by CAIS and WASC.
