Learning Support

At St. Michael’s Episcopal Day School, we are committed to supporting the growth of every learner. We partner closely with families to understand each child’s unique learning profile and provide guidance and resources when challenges arise. Our goal is to foster confidence and success through early identification, thoughtful intervention, and strong collaboration among teachers, specialists, and families.
Teachers and administrators monitor student progress, identify areas of need, and implement classroom strategies to support a range of learners. When additional support is needed, we work with families to determine next steps, which may include a referral for academic or developmental evaluation. Families may choose to pursue testing through their local school district or a private practitioner.
We understand that navigating assessments and services can feel overwhelming, and we are here to help with:
- Guidance through the referral and evaluation process
- Support in understanding assessment results
- Connections to trusted local resources
Once a learning need is identified, our learning support team develops an individualized, evidence-based plan for each student. This plan outlines classroom accommodations and targeted support to build on strengths and address areas for growth.
