Guidelines for submitting photos of school events for use in Yearbook:

Dear St. Michael’s Parents:

I am Steve Buzzard and this will be my fourth year as the school’s yearbook coordinator. The yearbook has been a very rewarding experience for me. I think it’s the journalist in me about having to meet deadlines. In the pursuit of trying to make the process a little easier, I write you today.

There are many events that take place at our school and I rely heavily on photos from teachers and parents. In the past three years, Eric Freund and Kendra Malek have done an incredible job of capturing some of our great moments at St. Michael’s. So, this is an invitation to send any photos that I might be able to include in the yearbook. The reason of this e-mail is how to get those photos to me.

This year (in an effort to be a little more organized with pictures for the yearbook) I am going to ask if photos or links can be sent to me at scbuzzard@gmail.com .

The photos can be sent to me in one of two ways:

1. Directly by e-mail. You can use attachments or depending on your e-mail software, there is a direct link to send photos to an e-mail.

2. If you have Shutterfly, SmugMug (that’s what I use), Google Picasa, IPHOTO (Mac Users) or Flickr or a photo source, you can send me the link to the photo gallery where you store your photos. I actually recommend setting up an account (they are all free and I included links; just click on the word) with one of these photo sources. It’s an easy way to keep all photos organized.

The other part of this is that if you send photos to me via e-mail, it is very helpful if you select what you think are the best photos of the bunch. It saves me one step from having to go through all the photos. And with the yearbook, there is a small representation of each thing that happens at the school. If you send me a link to a photo gallery, just let me know what your favorites are.
